FreeAppADay links up with AppAnnie to offer analytics
Developers now able to monitor sales boost
The best way to get apps as high as possible up the sales charts is a factor still up for debate, with some claiming short-term boosts do little to generate long-term profits.
To demonstrate its effect, iPhone app promo site FreeAppADay has announced a deal with analytics outfit AppAnnie that should help developers monitor their increase in sales if they sign up to the site.
The partnership is described as a venture to help developers navigate the ever-expanding App Store, and track rising sales via AppAnnie's tables and charts.
"In a crowded App Store market place, we are effectively acting as a consultant for our iPhone developer partners, which makes it necessary for us to continually provide them with relevant data," said FreeAppADay's veep of marketing, Stacy Kramer.
"AppAnnie offers a robust analytics platform which makes the site an ideal fit to showcase the effectiveness of the solution."
Success breeds successFreeAppADay already claims to have pushed seven apps up to the top spot in the App Store; Little Metal Ball and Chop Chop Runner the latest to have climbed the charts.
By working with AppAnnie, it hopes to further prove its worth over the coming months.
"Awareness of an app is an essential factor for success on the app store, and FreeAppADay has consistently proven to have a significant effect on app awareness and rankings," added AppAnnie lead project manager Pin Wang
"We are excited to include FreeAppADay features as marked events on App Annie, which will assist our users in the analysis of free promotional sales and effective methods of app marketing."
