Uppercut Games's Unreal Engine-powered third-person cover shooter Epoch has bravely blasted its way out of Apple's App Store and onto Google's digital mobile emporium.

In Epoch, you're thrust into the role of a weapon-clad robot who must fight a never-ending war across a post-apocalyptic planet in order to collect clues and discover what brought about the end of the world.

Basically, then, you have to defeat waves of mechanical foes in various arena-style battles by tapping and swiping at your device's screen with one of your sweaty digits.

By interacting with your 'droid blower in this fashion, you can duck and dive in and out of cover; home in on various targets; and fill your opponents with hot lead.

At review, we called the iOS version of this gorgeous-looking shooter a "unique take on the third-person action genre", and noted that it has "satisfyingly different touchscreen controls".

Interested? Good. Head on over to Google Play and download Epoch right this second for £3.39.
