Duke Dashington is a tough-as-old-boots one-touch platformer that does things a little differently. It's just swooshed onto the New Zealand App Store, which means it should be hitting the UK at midnight tonight.

Rather than controlling the literally dashing duke with buttons, everything is done with swipes. Swipe up to dash up, left to dash left, and so on.

It takes a while to get used to the swipes, but once everything clicks you'll be making light work of the screen-sized ten second challenges that make up the crumbling temple you're trying to get through.

It's not an easy game, and it can be a bit frustrating when your swipes don't work the way you meant them to, but the retro graphics and brief bursts of play make up for that.

When Duke Dashington lands in the UK later today it'll set you back £1.49 / $1.99. If you want to find out more about the game before midnight, check out our hands-on with the game above.
