iOS version of Dragon Fantasy Book I makes the leap from 8-bit to 16-bit in 2.0 update
New dungeons, music, and achievements to boot

The Muteki Corporation posted a welcome bit of news on its Facebook page this weekend - the iOS version of Dragon Fantasy Book I finally got the 16-bit treatment.
As part of the massive (and free!) 2.0 update, the artwork to the satirical retro-RPG received a substantial overhaul and now looks closer to the 16-bit graphics of the Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning sequel Dragon Fantasy Book II.
The 2.0 update also includes reworked game audio, new achievements, and the addition of new dungeons for players to crawl through.
From iOS to Vita to 3DSDragon Fantasy Book I's 16-bit update comes as The Muteki Corp. is working on a 3DS release of the game that it's been teasing meticulously over on its Facebook page.
In our review of Dragon Fantasy Book I (for the PS Vita), we summed it up by saying that "if you enjoyed Dragon Quest back on the early home consoles then you'll like Dragon Fantasy Book I, as it's a sterling recreation of what made those games great."
If this sounds like the type of game you'd like to add to your iOS device of choice, and you enjoy questing in the olde style of 8-bit gaming, you can download it from the App Store for $7.99 / £5.49
