HD remake of Amiga platforming favourite Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk coming to iOS and Android on December 9th

Codemasters has just announced that a special HD "eggdition" of its 1991 platformer Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk will hit the iPhone, iPad, and Android-powered devices on December 9th.

This high-definition remake follows egg-shaped hero Dizzy - complete with trademark red boxing gloves - as he attempts to save girlfriend Daisy and the rest of the Yolkfolk from the Evil Wizard Zacks.

As you explore the underground caves and treetops of the kingdom of Keldor, you'll have to overcome enemies, collect items, and solve the odd puzzle. As you can see from the video below, you'll do all of this using controls positioned on both sides of your device's screen.

It's eggcellent

"It always astounds us what a loyal fan base Dizzy still has," Philip Oliver, Dizzy co-creator, said.

"Even after all these years people remember Dizzy fondly and it’s great to see him return for his older fans and introduce him to a new generation of gamers."

Co-creator Andrew Oliver added: "Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk was one of the most popular Dizzy titles and it’s exciting to see him making his debut iOS and Android for the holidays."

You can grab Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk from the App Store and Android Market on December 9th.
