Konami DDR S Lite iPhone demo goes live... before the main game

Konami has launched a one-song demo of its upcoming Dance Dance Revolution music game for iPhone.

It's called Dance Dance Revolution S Lite, and went live yesterday. As the name implies, it's a freebie.

However, the interesting thing is that it's being released as a taster for the full DDR S Lite game which is currently in development, and will be "packed with new songs and unique characters" according to Konami.

Until now, most iPhone publishers have launched their full games first, and only then have worked on the free Lite demos to promote them.

However, Konami's approach seems sensible, and more akin to that of the console and PC games industries, where demos are usually released in advance of full games to build anticipation.
