Publisher X testing seven-day price discounts on iPhone games

Critter Crunch and Reel Deal Texas Hold'em going cheap for a week

Publisher X testing seven-day price discounts on iPhone games

One of the intriguing things about Apple's App Store is the pricing flexibility, with publishers free to set their own prices, and then change them at (almost) the drop of a hat.

Gameloft has already cut the prices of several of its iPhone launch games just a week after their release, and now Publisher X is running a week-long discount deal on two of its own titles.

From last Friday until the end of this week, Critter Crunch has had its price cut from $9.99 to $5.99 on the App Store, while Reel Deal Texas Hold'Em has been cut from $4.99 to just $0.99 for the same period.

Both cuts have been mirrored on the UK App Store, too, with the games now selling for £3.49 and £0.59, respectively.

It'll be interesting to see what happens after Friday, mind. If sales of both games shoot through the roof, you'd expect the prices to stay low.
