Having launched its operator billing model for Android across 56 countries back in June, Boku appears to have secured a virtual monopoly in one of those territories: France.

Boku's model, which allows users to pay for mobile purchases with their phone bill, is set to be deployed in new venture between rival French carriers SFR and Bouygues dubbed Internet + Mobile.

Building up Boku

Built around Boku's technology, users can enter their phones numbers to pay for goods on their handsets, although the service only covers products up to the value of €10.

Most importantly, however, the deal means the firm has secured a clean sweep of the French market, with the partnership signed with the two operators adding to its existing agreement with rival Orange.

Pooling all three carrier's userbases together means Boku now serves an audience of almost 50 million users in France alone, while the company claims its worldwide base now tops 3 billion.
