Gameloft signs up for Twistbox's play-for-prizes
Block Breaker Deluxe first title to launch
Gameloft is the latest mobile games publisher to sign up for Twistbox's play-for-prizes platform.
The first title to come out of the deal is a new version of Block Breaker Deluxe, which will be sold in the US and Europe.
It's the first time Gameloft has tested this kind of technology, and while the deal is kicking off with this one game, presumably if it works well others will follow.
Players of the new version of Block Breaker Deluxe will be able to win prizes from the likes of Starbucks, Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Apple.
Twistbox is putting plenty of effort into its for-prizes technology. In December, it announced that the platform had hosted more than 75 million game sessions, promised a new push with European operators, and said it would launch the platform on iPhone and Android.
The platform was originally developed by Atlas Mobile in the US in 2003, before that company was acquired by InfoSpace, which later sold the technology on to Twistbox.
