When the true name of a person is unknown, or for whatever reason is being concealed in order to remain anonymous, we often refer to them as John Doe (for males) and Jane Doe (for females). Also, those are terms often used in criminal investigations to refer to unidentified dead bodies. Now, what do all these have to do with Roblox you might wonder. The answer is below.
Two mysterious Roblox accounts
For many years, there were rumours within the Roblox community regarding two mysterious accounts. Sometime in 2017, those rumours caused a great deal of panic to every Robloxian, as some members of the community suggested that these two accounts would hack Roblox on March 18th. Of course, that turned out to be false, but the whole thing got so big and had so many players worried about their accounts that Roblox had to make an official blog post about it in order to clear things up.
The two accounts that would supposedly hack Roblox were John Doe and Jane Doe. In that official post, Roblox informed the community that these two accounts were created by Roblox developers David Baszucki and Erik Cassel as test accounts on June 25, 2005. Because these two 'dummy' accounts didn't really belong to any player, they were given placeholder names instead. It was also made clear that both of these accounts were owned and maintained by Roblox, and they were harmless to the community.

Up until 2017, players could add John and Jane Doe to their follower and friends lists, or even award them with badges. That ability, which caused a lot of confusion, was due to a bug that would allow players to add other players to their friend list without them having to agree. Of course, that bug has been patched and the friend lists for these two accounts have been cleared since.That incident among others, such as some Roblox content creators using the names John and Jane Doe as click-bait, created lore around these two accounts and had the community guessing about their true identities for a long time. In the end, Roblox users number 2 and 3 turned out to be positively harmless.
