Galaxy Bird Flight, a pixel art mobile arcade game from solo dev Vitomir Hardi, is out now for Android devices. Created by a 2nd-year Croatian college student from Vukovar, the charming title rewards players simply by beating their own personal high score.

In Galaxy Bird Flight, you soar through an endless arcade across the vastness of space, beating secret bosses and challenging your own speed. The gameplay is fast-paced as you swipe in the direction you want your galaxy bird to go, avoiding obstacles and collecting coins along the way. Coins collected can be exchanged for in-game goodies that provide buffs like more health or more speed. You can also purchase items that grant less gravity.

You'll have to travel to different planets and galaxies with progressively more challenging levels, and it's up to you to decide whether you'd like to play it safe and avoid any obstacles or go hard and fast to collect coins that'll offer you boons in every shop. There's a nifty checkpoint save system that lets you save your progress at upgrade shops, so there's time to catch your breath after an exhilarating playthrough.

"I started this project back at the end of 2019 when I was still in my 4th grade of high school," says developer Vitomir Hardi from his official press release. "I made this game primarily out of frustration with endless games and high scores. In most games you don’t see anything new when you get a high score, so I made a game that rewards you with new content when reaching your personal best score."

Galaxy Bird Flight is available to download on Google Play as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. The game features procedurally generated enemies on levels that get progressively faster across 30 space locations, as well as different birds you can choose from depending on your playstyle.
