NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition is here and is the second instalment in the Apple Arcade version of the iconic basketball sim. The latest edition is deeper than 2K21 and has a feel that's even more similar to that of the console games.

It has some vibes that compare with NBA 2K16, which is regularly rated among the best games in the 22-year-old series. It's not as deep, but there are features in 2K22 AE that are from that particular game. Maybe the biggest standing out is the addition of MyCOURT which is a court where you can customize, shoot around and play games.

There are some more options in MyCAREER as well and that's what we're focusing on today. It's become a hugely popular mode where you can create your own NBA superstar and lead him to a legendary career on the hardwood. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when diving into your basketball career.

Tip #1 - Take Advantage of MyCOURT

Take Advantage of MyCOURT

We mentioned this feature earlier, but NBA 2K22 Arcade Edition features MyCOURT which was very popular for a few years before 2K rid of the feature on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game. The PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions still have it.

But this is a feature you should definitely take advantage of. It's a haven where you can freely work on your game and test out your MyPLAYER build. This feature truly comes in handy as there is no real way to practice in NBA 2K Mobile, another popular mobile offering in the series.

You can shoot around as long as you want and perfect your jump shot and such. It's just a good place to relax and relieve some stress. Shooting around and throwing down some dunks can be therapeutic for a baller, wouldn't you say? So make good use of MyCOURT and have some fun experimenting.

Tip #2 - Experiment With Badges

Badges have started to become somewhat of an iconic feature in the NBA 2K series. These will enhance your MyPLAYER's skills to a level that's beyond just the attributes. These badges range from Bronze to Hall of Fame, giving it a cool purple colour.

There are many badges for the following skills: Finishing, Shooting, Playmaking, and Defense/Rebounding abilities. You'll earn badge points by completing games and playing well. The points will be given based on how you do in each of the four skills.

Also, keep in mind that, depending on your MyPLAYER build, you will have more badge opportunities with one or two skills over the others. It's all based on what attributes look like in each area. The higher the attribute potential, the more badge opportunities you'll get with that skill.

Tip #3 - Consider Your Archetype

Archetypes are essential for your MyPLAYER and help shape him into what type of player he becomes. We mentioned archetypes briefly already, but this is just a reminder to think about how you want your MyPLAYER to play the game.

Do you want to be a shooter? Perhaps you want to be a great defender and rebounder? Keep these things in mind when you decide. In the worst case, if you aren't satisfied with your character, then you can always start a new MyCAREER from scratch and try again.

If you want to be a scorer, then you can try making a pure shooting build that focuses on mid-range and three-point shooting. You can also make a slashing type of MyPLAYER where he'll be able to drive to the hoop and get inside baskets. The choice is yours so have some fun creating.
