These basic Free Fire MAX tips will help new players first and foremost, but if you are looking for some more advanced tips, take a look at the original game on our website. We have a whole bunch of Free Fire guides, and some of them are exploring the game to the tiniest bits.

Free Fire MAX is an interesting game in that, it's not necessarily a remaster of the hugely popular battle royale game nor is it a "remake" which is slightly different from remastering. Instead, it's a more enhanced version of the game, and although that sounds like a remastering, it's not quite.

It really feels like a mixture of the old and new which experienced players will appreciate. It's more polished and frankly, even a bit more breathtaking. It's the slight improvements in the graphics and environments that make it stand out for the most part.

Although there are many similarities to the original Free Fire, FF MAX will still throw some differences at you, even if they aren't many. The tips we give you here will be more mental than actual performance-based, as, for the most part, the gameplay is the same. Without further ado, let's dive into the fresh new(ish) world of Free Fire MAX.

Tip #1 - Pay Attention to Sounds

This shouldn't take long for you to get used to but, many of the sounds of Free Fire are different, including gunshots. Get yourself familiarized with these new sounds because they could throw you off a tad if you're used to the original game's sounds.

Now sure, a gunshot is going to sound like a gunshot, but sometimes, our mentals operate in weird ways. You may think the shots are closer than they really are and things like that. They sound a bit louder so this can throw someone off on occasion.

That said, you'll have no problem adjusting. Just know that it's a bit different from the OG Free Fire is all. Just for the record, the gunshot sounds are also pretty satisfying to boot too. So go out there and enjoy the fight, Free Fire MAX legend.

Tip #2 - Be More Mindful of The Danger Zone

The Danger Zone in Free Fire MAX is, well, dangerous and it's a feature that adds to the level of intensity in each and every match. The Danger Zone is a bit altered compared to how it was in the original Free Fire where it seemed like it was easier to spot.

In Free Fire MAX, the giant blue portal that leads to the DZ can be a bit tougher to spot at first. It's a bit clearer than in the original game so you'll need to be mindful when it's closing in. The good thing is that you can see lightning so it makes it easier to spot.

From a distance, you can actually see it just fine. It's just when you're a bit closer then it can throw you off a tad. But, after some playing, you'll get used to this in no time. The lightning is a nice, beautiful touch to give the danger zone a bit more vibrant, intimidating feel.

Tip #3 - Take a Peak at The Settings

So this is more performance-based. Free Fire MAX offers some neat setting options that are exclusive to this iteration of the game. These settings will improve the look and style of the game as well as textures and the like. These settings will be on by default.

But, if you feel like the game's performance is acting up a bit, then head into the Free Fire MAX setting and tweak them to your desire until you feel the performance is smooth. Fortunately, you shouldn't have many issues and should be able to enjoy the enhancements.

However, if you do feel like things are not running smooth then feel free to turn off a couple of the settings if needed. There's nothing worse than not being able to play at your best because of things like lag and other interferences during gameplay. Even if your performance is good, feel free to look at the new settings anyway.
