Netflix adds more titles to its mobile gaming service in select European markets
|

Netflix is eager to get a slice of the pie as its launches three new gaming titles exclusively available to subscribers in select European regions. This move into the mobile sphere includes “Shooting Hoops,” “Teeter Up”, and “Card Blast”, which will be available to subscribers of the streaming service in Poland, Spain, and Italy.

Members of Netflix in these markets can access these new mobile titles (following the “Stranger Things” IP) through the new “Games” tab inside the app. Here, players can check the listings on their location's Google Play Store. They will then need to use their login details for Netflix in order to play the game. And since these titles will be part of the Netflix subscription service, games will be free-to-play with no in-app purchases or pesky ads.

TechCrunch was able to gather more details about the mobile gaming expansion of the entertainment company. “Starting today, Netflix members in Spain and Italy can play five mobile games on Android as part of our ongoing games rollout,” a Netflix spokesperson tells TechCrunch. “These five games include ‘Stranger Things: 1984,’ ‘Stranger Things 3: The Game,’ ‘Card Blast,’ ‘Teeter Up’ and ‘Shooting Hoops,’ which are all also available in Poland now. We’re still in the very early days, but we’re excited to bring these exclusive games as part of the Netflix membership — with no ads and no in-app purchases.

PocketGamer.biz also recently reported about other titles in the works. You can read a bit about Netflix's plans to dabble into the mobile gaming space from their recent letter to shareholders, which talks more about the rationale behind this bold new move.
