Rovio has announced it will be bringing back some of its older Angry Birds games that were previously delisted. The announcement came in the form of a blog post on the official Rovio website.

“We took them out of circulation, and didn’t say anything and that let you down,” the blog post states. “Not cool. We promise, our heart was in the right place: we wanted to focus on building new, and even better games to serve our players in the best possible way going forward.”

“We hear you. There’s a big outcry for getting back some of the older fan favourites. We also want to say: We are working on it! We will find a way to bring these classic experiences back to you. It might take a while, but we have something in the works.

Some of the games included in this list are Angry Birds Classic, Angry Birds Seasons, which were removed from mobile stores due to the fact that maintaining them for modern devices was costly and took a great amount of developer effort that took away from developing new games.

From the sounds of it, it seems the games will return in some form but not in their original state. Rather, they’ll come back as new titles but designed and presented as close to their original formats as possible.

Rovio also makes it clear that the recently announced Angry Birds Reloaded is not this. Although it’s inspired by the classic Angry Birds games, it is still a new title developed exclusively for Apple Arcade.

Release dates for these newly revived titles are not available yet, but you can keep up to date with Rovio’s Twitter account to receive more info as it becomes known.
