A few weeks ago, Tall Story Games initiated a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for its adventure title, Lucy Dreaming and the campaign raised the desired amount in just a week. With such a quick response to the campaign, Tall Story can see the love players have for adventure games and for their title as well.

Lucy Dreaming is a pixel-art adventure game with a story that centres around a character named Lucy, a clever girl who is suffering from recurring nightmares. The game entirely focuses on the adventures Lucy embarks upon in her dreams.

Players who love retro-adventure games will surely like it since the game draws inspiration from classic titles like Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion.

Tom and Emma Hardwidge, the couple behind the title were very determined to pursue their dreams. Despite being discouraged by the numbers of people who claimed that adventure titles were dead, the couple were dedicated to the campaign.

The game initially wanted to raise a fund of $21,092, and astonishingly, more than the required amount was collected in just one week and continues to increase.

With the success of the Kickstarter campaign, Tom Hardwidge, founder of the game said: “We’ve been utterly overwhelmed and delighted by the support we’ve had from adventure game fans all around the world. The idea that a genre that’s brought so much joy to millions of players for decades could just disappear didn’t ring true to us.”

If pure nostalgic pixel-art and British sense of humour, paired with a hysterical adventure that leads to the truth behind the recurring nightmares sounds like a good time, then Lucy Dreaming by Tall Story Games could be worth trying.

As of now, the game is available as a demo on Google Play, that allows you to experience the gameplay and the content for an hour and is free to try.
