Today NetEase has released its upcoming survival shooter Lost Light as an Android soft launch title in Australia and New Zealand. The beta is currently expected to only be available there but will gradually expand worldwide.

The game is about you and an assortment of other players joining the Firefly task force to invade highly secure enemy bases. The objective? To loot enemy equipment and supplies to bring back for your own shelter, which can be upgraded to withstand invasions that are targeted at you.

While the setting is relatively straightforward, the action is complex, with you facing many difficulties on your mission to extract with the supplies. You must stay low and find the closest exfil point while carrying out your mission, all while trying not to be spotted to avoid any unbridled firefights.

The game also focuses on the guns a lot, too. It allows you to make various modifications to them, altering them using the Blueprints system. You can collect loot to upgrade these weapons or instead use them on the shelter to secure your survival in the apocalyptic world.

A big feature of Lost Light is the ability to create allies with other players to help you fight for survival. You can team up with them and trade items with them for better results. The game also has a ranked mode where the winner can claim rare supplies from the prize pool.

Lost Light is out now for Android as a soft launch title in Australia and New Zealand. NetEase plans to expand the regions, and more details on this will be revealed in May. You can visit the official website to access the game now if you’re in a compatible territory.
