Thousands Layered Edge is an action RPG with a lovely ink wash art style that's heading for Android today

Thousands Layered Edge is an action RPG from independent developer 13th Studio that's set to arrive for Android devices at some stage today. It follows the story of a young female assassin as they look to prevent a civil war between the Imperial Army and the Rebellion Force, led by the 4 Kenseis.

It will see players engaging in a series of 1 on 1 fights where the action will be controlled through various swipes and taps. Simply swiping will handle attacking whilst a quick double-tap will make the character dodge away from danger. Seemingly it will mostly be a test of the player's timing then.

Each victory will net players additional experience points that can then be used to gain additional skills that will prove useful throughout their journey. Occasionally enemies will also drop equipment once they've been defeated, though this differs for each playthrough, rather than being guaranteed.

To break up the battles there will also be a series of mini-games in between the fights to vary the gameplay a tad. For instance, there is one section where you'll be tasked with dodging incoming cannonballs from a boat as you attempt to row towards it.

You can check out this mini-game alongside some of the combat in the embedded trailer above. However, the ink wash painting art style is more likely to grab your attention since it looks incredibly stylish. It's certainly an aesthetic that will help Thousands Layered Edge stand out on Google Play, so hopefully, the gameplay will be equally engaging.

Thousands Layered Edge is set to arrive on Google Play at some stage today and it will be a premium game.
