Blade & Soul Revolution: Tips and Tricks for Beginners

Here's what you need to know as you start your adventure in Blade & Soul Revolution.

Blade & Soul Revolution: Tips and Tricks for Beginners

If you're about to dive into the world of Blade & Soul Revolution, here are a few tips and tricks to keep in mind. This list is by no means exhaustive, but if you follow these guidelines you're guaranteed to have a great early experience in the Earthen Realm.

Blade & Soul Revolution is a complex game. Between hundreds of quests, a complex combat system, crafting, and raiding, it's easy to get overwhelmed as a newcomer to its vast world. The game does an excellent job walking you through most of its systems, but there's so much thrown at you within the first few hours that it's hard to figure out what you should do next.

Blade and Soul Tip 1: Pick The Right Class

Before you jump headfirst into the massive world of Blade & Soul Revolution, you'll need to pick a class and create a character. But with four different races and five different classes to chose from, this task is easier said than done.

If you need some help, we've put together a brief guide that details the playstyle of each class. They're a bit different compared to the traditional Warrior, Mage, and Rogue seen in most titles, but the archetypes are all present. Picking the right class is an important first step in Blade & Soul Revolution, so take your time and find one that works best for you.

Blade and Soul Tip 2: Tackle The Main Quest

As fun as some of the other content is, it's important to work through the first few hours of the main quest before getting sidetracked by a shiny new feature. Not only is the main story one of the best ways to level your character, but it also unlocks Dungeons, fast travel, and crafting mechanics. If you decide to venture off on your own without delving into the main story, you're going to miss out on loads of content.

Once you hit level 30, feel free to start exploring other types of content. By that point, you'll have unlocked plenty of new ways to level up and will have seen a large portion of the game's core mechanics. But if you ever hit a wall, or just don't know what to do next, always dive back into the Main Quest.

Tip 3: Learn How To Fight

Blade & Soul Revolution offers some of the deepest combat we've seen in a mobile MMO. It comes with a steep learning curve, but the rewards are more than worth the effort. Chain skills, combos, skill variants, and more keep things interesting – but also mean there's a lot to wrap your head around.

While the game's tutorials will walk you through the basics of all these features, learning the intricacies of each will take a lot of practice. Instead of grinding through mobs with Auto-Quest turned on, try to pull off a few elaborate combos in manual mode in a low-stakes environment. If you need some extra help, you can also dive into the Hongmoon Training Area to get a detailed walkthrough of all your available chain skills.

Tip 4: Dive Into Dungeons

Once you've got a handle on the basics of combat, try your hand at a few dungeons. These will open up as you progress through the story, so don't worry if they're not yet available. Dungeons pit you and three other adventures up against some of the most challenging group content in the entire game.

If you don’t have a regular group to play with, Blade & Soul Revolution includes a Party Finder to help pair you up with a suitable team. Dungeons are also a great way to earn powerful new gear and quickly level up your character.

Tip 5: Improve Your Gear

Earning and upgrading gear is always at the heart of any good MMO, and that holds true for Blade & Soul Revolution. The crafting and upgrading system is very straightforward – and a short in-game tutorial will show you the ropes – but it's easy to forgo the system in favour of questing and combat.

However, it's important to make time during each play session to see if you can upgrade your gear. You'll find Fire Pits scattered throughout the Earthen Realm, and it's in your best interest to stop by and look at your available upgrades whenever you stumble upon one. It's not the most exciting part of Blade & Soul Revolution, but it ensures you're always equipped with the best gear possible to make your adventuring a breeze.

Finally, take It Slow

Blade & Soul Revolution throws a lot at you in a short amount of time, and it's easy to get overwhelmed. However, don't feel the need to check everything out at once. In fact, it's best to take it slow and move at your own pace – otherwise you'll get burned out in a few hours.

Slowly work your way through the main story, carefully follow the thousands of tutorials, and dip your toes into everything it has to offer. Don't dive headfirst into everything, mind you, but at least take a peek at everything it has to offer. If you enjoy a certain mechanic, feel free to keep at it. If not, jump back into the main storyline and work your way through to the end. The wealth of content in Blade & Soul Revolution is great for the longevity of the game – just don't consume it all at once.
