Lilith Games' popular idle RPG AFK Arena's latest event is a 1v1 duelling affair called War of Wits. It will see players deprived of their high-level heroes before being pitted against an opponent on a level playing field where skill and tactical prowess will see them emerge victorious.

It is a fast-paced game mode that aims to test each player's ability to quickly assemble a squad of Heroes against the clock. During each match, players will take it in turns to draw from a shared pool of cards. This deck can contain 40 different Heroes and 24 Relics.

Picking a Hero will add that character to the player's hand where they will stay until being deployed in War of Wits' final combat phase. These Heroes come from one of four different factions with distinct advantages and disadvantages. Relics, meanwhile, can boost a player's squad or debuff their opponent's.

There will be multiple tactics to deploy in this game mode then. Regardless of which path players opt for, the ultimate aim will always be to climb as high as possible on the leaderboards. The better their rank, the more lucrative the rewards they receive will be.

During the event, players will be able to unlock Celestial Hero Talene, the Rising Phoenix if they play in 20 PvP matches before 26th February. Talene is an agility-centric support character who makes use of flame-based attacks in battle. She joins the ever-growing roster that is a mixture of original and crossover heroes. Some of the collaborative characters include the likes of Ezio Auditore of Assassin's Creed fame and Joker from Persona 5.

AFK Arena is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
