Wild Rift Patch Notes 2.1: Everything you need to know about the latest update to the popular MOBA

We've talked yesterday about the preview of the Wild Rift 2.1 Patch Notes, where we were introduced to some of the upcoming events, as well as some of the new champions that will come to Wild Rift in the future.

Today we will take a look at the Wild Rift Patch Notes 2.1 and tell you exactly what they will translate to, moving into the game.

Wild Rift update 2.1- New Champions

Xayah & Rakan

Xayah and Rakan have not yet been released but will be later on - probably sometime in the next few days. Xayah is a powerful Marksman who has the ability to throw feathers at her opponents, rooting them, dealing tons of damage, and to top it all off - she's got a beast of an ultimate that makes her invulnerable and untargetable for a split second.

Rakan is her lover, and he is a support champion. He can engage and shield allies, and with his ultimate he becomes extremely swift, all the while he's charming the opponents he runs towards.

All in all, I can only imagine that both Xayah and Rakan are going to wreak havoc in the Dragon lane, since they have a powerful synergy and on the current patch, the items still work very well with both of them.

Wild Rift update 2.1 - New Features

Replays

Replays will be available for the 50 most recent matches. In the Replay window, you can see an improved HUD, showing both teams’ items, summoner spells, Gold, and more.

You can access the Replays from the Match History page, once a game has finished, similar to the PC version of League of Legends. Players can use various playback speed settings, ranging from 0.5× to 8× speed.

However, replays will expire with each new patch.

Spectator Mode

Guess what? You can now spectate other players' games! This has been a feature that I've long been looking forward to since it's an extremely good tool for learning and improving your map awareness.

In order to be able to spectate a player, you have to be in-game friends with them and run the same game version. You can also choose to not allow spectators to watch your games from the Settings -> Allow Spectators menu.

Champion changes

Corki (buffed)

(Skill 1) Phosphorus Bomb
- AD ratio: 0.5 bonus AD → 0.7 bonus AD

(Skill 3) Gatling Gun

Armor and Magic Resist reduction: 4/6/8/10 → 8/12/16/20

(Skill 4 - Ultimate) Missile Barrage

- Base damage: 80/95/110 → 80/115/150
- AD ratio: 0.25 at all ranks → 0.25/0.45/0.65
- Big One base damage: 160/190/220 → 160/230/300
- Big One AD ratio: 0.5 at all ranks → 0.5/0.9/1.3

What does this all mean? Corki will now be stronger in the late game, with his ultimate getting quite a major buff. His missiles will deal a lot more damage, so he should benefit a lot more from the Trinity Force. Combine that with the doubled DEF reduction on his Skill 3, he should be definitely an S-tier unit now. Jarvan IV (buffed)

Base Stats
- AD per level: 3.6 → 4.55

(Passive) Martial Cadence
- Now deals 20 minimum damage

(Skill 1) Dragon Strike
- Dragon Strike to Demacian Standard dash combo hitbox size: 2 → 2.5

(Skill 4 - Ultimate) Cataclysm
- Fixed dash speed: 0.4s → 0.25s

What does this all mean?

Jarvan IV should be a lot more powerful now, since his basic AD per level increased by quite a lot, and his hitbox slightly increased. He should appear more often in games, but I can't imagine him being the go-to pick for junglers.

Jax (buffed)

(Skill 1) Leap Strike
- Range: 6 → 6.5
- Cooldown: 9/8/7/6s → 7.5/7/6.5/6s
- Damage: 55/110/165/220 → 60/115/170/225

What does this mean?

Jax will now be able to all-in more often, and start being the Jax that many people fear in League of Legends. With a slightly increased range and damage, he should scale off of AD items quite well.

Kai'Sa (adjusted)

(Skill 2) Void Seeker
- Correctly applies Caustic Wounds’ damage to the target hit

What does this mean?

She should now be even more deadly since she can apply her Skill 2 damage without any errors.

Kennen (nerfed)

Base Stats
- Base AD: 58 → 52
- Movement speed: 335 → 330

(Skill 2) Electrical Surge
- Cooldown: 12/10/8/6s → 15/12/9/6s

(Skill 3) Lightning Rush
- Base damage: 85/140/195/250 → 70/125/180/235
- AP ratio: 0.8 → 0.7

(Skill 4 - Ultimate) Slicing Maelstrom
- Base damage: 35/70/105 → 30/60/90
- AP ratio: 0.2 → 0.15

What does this all mean?

If you've played Wild Rift in the past few weeks (more specifically since the Yordle Expedition Event), chances are you've encountered a Kennen or two in your games. That deadly electric guinea pig should now be less of a bully and more of a "balanced" unit. His skills all got major nerfs, so he shouldn't be such a dangerous weapon anymore - a long-awaited nerf for non-Kennen mains I would say.

Lee Sin (adjusted)

(Skill 4 - Ultimate) Dragon’s Rage
- Knockback range: 7.5 → 6.75

What does this mean?

Players can now pull off insecs left and right without fearing that the range is too big to be followed up by Skill 1.

Tristana (buffed)

(Skill 1) Rapid Fire
- Attack speed: 30/50/70/90% → 50/70/90/110%
- Duration: 5s → 7s

(Skill 2) Rocket Jump
- Base damage: 60/130/200/270 → 85/155/225/295

(Skill 3) Explosive Charge
- Passive base damage: 40/70/100/130 → 55/85/115/145
- Active base damage: 60/70/80/90 → 65/80/95/110
- AD ratio: 50/70/90/110% Bonus AD → 55/90/125/160% Bonus AD

What does this all mean?

Tristana didn't feel that strong, especially since her Skill 3 damage was truly underwhelming (think about a level 2 all-in Tristana tickling you with zero to no damage). Her fully stacked Skill 3 should now be a lot better, given that it got heavily buffed.

Twisted fate (buffed)

(Skill 2) Pick a Card
- Blue Card mana restoration: 50/65/80/95 → 60/90/120/150
- Blue Card AP ratio: 0.5 → 0.8
- Red Card AP ratio: 0.5 → 0.65
- Gold Card stun duration: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75s → 1.25/1.5/1.75/2s

What does this mean?

Twisted Fate should now be a more viable pick since all three cards on his Skill 2 got buffed.

Yasuo (buffed)

(Skill 4 - Ultimate) Last Breath
- Base damage: 200/300/400 → 200/350/500
- Animation time: 1.5s → 1.25s
- Knock-up duration: 1.5s → 1.25s

What does this mean?

I bet you know what this means - more Yasuos in your games!
