As we reported last year, Square Enix is launching Dragon Quest Tact globally later this month on 27th January, and mobile players can now pre-register the game on their iOS or Android device.

The game previously released last summer on iOS and Android in Japan, where it received over 10 million downloads, but fans located outside of that region won’t be able to access the game until the end of the month.

Dragon Quest Tact takes place in the iconic universe of the same name, where you embark on an epic journey to diminish the evil plagues from the world of Orchesterra and join forces with familiar monsters from the series.

These teams are built strategically and you must direct the monsters in heated tactical battles which unfold on a grid-like map. Along the way you can also recruit new allies while also upgrading your favourites to take on more ferocious battles. Check out this trailer of the Japanese version of the game which demonstrates more of how the game plays.

Dragon Quest Tact promises to be accessible to both new and experienced players, as the new form of combat is described by Square Enix as being “simple-yet-deep” and features a large roster of beloved monsters. Anyone who downloads the game when it launches will receive the iconic King Slime monster for a limited time.

You can pre-register Dragon Quest Tact now to play on the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android. It will be available as a free download with in-app purchases on its release date of 27th January.
