Back in September indie developer Mindgame Studios released Crux: A Climbing Game. We were quite fond of it here on Pocket Gamer with editor Dann including in his top five games of that week and video editor James singing its praises in moving picture format, which you can see below.

The game has recently received a major update that introduces a host of new features. This includes a way to search through the 5000 plus player-made levels that have been created so far. It has also added various categories to choose from to narrow the search further.

They've also added tournaments that will offer both virtual and real prizes – which will be provided through sponsorships. Additionally, player statistics and achievements have been added so they can better keep track of the progress they've made in Crux: A Climbing Game.

In addition to that, there are new puzzle elements and levels to complete alongside alternative control mechanics and a level rating system. So if you tried the game back in September, liked the concept but couldn't get along with the controls, it might be worth hopping back in and trying the alternative option.

If you're unfamiliar, Crux: A Climbing Game is essentially a puzzler where you'll look to scale a wall by moving your hands and feet to a new hold. You'll only be able to cling on for so long, however, so you'll need to find a path to quickly climb to the top without falling.

Crux: A Climbing Game is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with various in-app purchases.
