Ready Set Goat is a silly and fun arcade game where you take on the role of a goat. It has the classic arcade machine vibes in terms of its simplicity and graphics. The graphics are colorful and vibrant, but it's the 8-bit nature of it that sort of takes you back in time.

You're placed in a small ski lift area with mountains in the background. Your goat will be running back and forth autonomously. So in some ways, it has an endless runner vibe to it although you're in one tight area. So you can say the pacing is pretty smooth.

But the goal is simple in that you take out as many enemies as you can to get the best score you possibly can in old school fashion. Its simplicity helps make the game pretty addicting, and we tell you a few things that you should know before diving into this game of goats.

Pick Up and Play Action

With an arcade-style game like Ready Set Goat comes simplicity, and with simplicity, comes the factor that makes the game easy to pick up and play. This is great if you're newer to mobile gaming and want to play something simple, but do want a bit of challenge.

There are some games that are even easier to pick up on mobile, but if you're someone who has a bit of a competitive itch, then RSG is a great game. It's that classic "you vs. the score" kind of game. And even if you're an experienced mobile gamer, you may appreciate this nature of play.

You'll also get into games super quick, which is always lovely. As soon as you run out of gas and die, you can very swiftly get right back into another game. So play away, GOAT (Greatest of All-Time).

Easy on the Eyes

Ready Set Goat is not a game that's going to "wow" with some deep, breathtaking graphics. Instead, it hits you with a wave of nostalgic charm that we've seen in games recently such as Celeste. The colors are vibrant and the overall 8-bit style is nice.

The sun rises over the pixelated mountains as you smash your way to a high score with epic hops. The music is fun too as you take in the classic graphics. And the thing is, it feels like a modern mobile game still so it combines some new textures with the old school style that you might appreciate from back in the day.

One of the great things about gaming is that not every game needs some absurdly realistic graphics to be a great game. Ready Set Goat is a great example of that, and it's perfect for mobile.

Intuitive Gameplay

A great thing about Ready Set Goat is how smooth the gameplay feels. When you think of arcade-style games, you don't take into account the "feel" of them. This is a game you can appreciate solely for its gameplay and it's pretty addicting.

As we mentioned, you can easily hop back into another game after your time is up. In some ways, you can say that this is a small part of the gameplay elements as well. As we know, we all love it when a game loads fast so we can get back into the action.

But the jumping ability and the satisfying feeling of taking out enemies with our goat friend makes things a lot of fun. And the touch screen controls are smooth too, so everything is quite intuitive overall.
