With Microsoft xCloud you can now play over 170 Xbox One games on your Android phone, here's a list of all of them

As of today, Microsoft's xCloud service is now available on Android phones through the Xbox Game Pass app, and with games like Grounded, Forza Horizon 4 and Destiny 2 included, it makes for a formidable offering.

Microsoft has been slowly pivoting their Xbox business from a traditional console company into a much more digital, multi-platform one for quite some time. It's been quite some time since any of their first-party exclusives were, in fact, only available through the Xbox Console as for the last few years they've been simultaneously releasing on the Windows Xbox App. Xbox Game Pass served to bring the ecosystem closer and away from being Xbox console specific, and now through Microsoft xCloud Android devices can also access it through the Xbox Game Pass app.

What does that mean for Android users though? Well, if you're already an Xbox Game Pass subscriber then just grab the app and get going, if you're not though then you can sign up for the service for £1 (for the first month) over on the Xbox website. Once you've done that you'll be able to stream games from the cloud - rather than downloading them as you do on other platforms - direct down to your phone and get going.

Oh, as an aside, you'll need to be from one of the following 22 countries for it to work: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

All of this said, you'll probably find yourself needing a controller of some sort for most games, as only a handful of titles - like Minecraft Dungeons - have been optimised to work with touchscreen controls.

At launch, there are 172 games included for streaming to Android. More will follow later in the year, including offerings from EA who are said to be bringing their EA Play service to the platform soon.

There are some absolute stand-out titles in there, Don't Starve, Double Kick Heroes, Indivisible, TABS and the Yakuza series are all games that I'd highly recommend you throw yourself into, and considering that the price of entry is £1 and some of these games are already available on mobile for more than that, it's an absolute steal.
