BTS Universe Story will allow fans to create their own stories about the group when it launches for iOS and Android

BTS, for the unaware, is a ludicrously popular South Korean boy band who have amassed a huge following since their debut in 2013. Looking to capitalise on that, Netmarble is now publishing their second game based on the boys. It's called BTS Universe Story and it's set to release for iOS and Android on October 29th and you can pre-register your interest today.

BTS Universe Story has been described as an 'interactive mobile storytelling platform' where players will be able to explore several existing stories from the existing BTS universe. However, the main selling point of the game is that players can create and share their own stories with other fans.

That's right, BTS Universe Story is essentially aiming to be a fanfiction creator that will help players bring their stories to life using the in-game production tools. This is called Create Story mode and will give players various background choices to accompany their scenes alongside selecting what characters say and so forth.

Alongside that, there will be the Play Story mode, as mentioned above, where players can experience pre-made interactive stories where their dialogue choices will shape the narrative. Beyond that, there is an AR mode and Collection function where they can customise the outfits of the BTS characters.

A pre-launch event is being held between now and August 24th called Writer Recruitment. This will give selected writers early access to the editing tools with the stories they create being added to the Play Mode when the game launches for all fans to enjoy. You can check out the BTS World Universe's official website for more details.

I'm not going to sit here and pretend I know anything about BTS, braver men than I have tried to get involved in the mythos of the ever-popular group with mixed results. However, I can imagine the ability to write fanfiction for your favourite musical outfit is probably quite appealing, especially with the ability to add visuals to it.

BTS Universe Story is available to pre-order now over on the App Store and Google Play ahead of its release on September 24th. It will be a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
