Back in March, Skullgirls Mobile players were blessed with the arrival of new character Fukua, who was initially a small joke between series creator Lab Zero and its legion of fans. Now, Skullgirls Mobile developer Hidden Variable has unveiled the game's latest character – the fierce and driven Annie.

Despite her youthful appearance, Annie is actually many centuries old. Why is this? Well, she was cursed by the Skull Heart to never grow up. That said, she doesn't exactly live as a normal child, having dedicated her exceedingly long life to stopping the Skull Heart once and for all.

In order to do so, she's picked up many skills and special items along the way, such as a remote parasite, Sagan, who helps her out in combat. Basically, she's as deadly as she is creative.

Annie has even appeared on TV to further her plans and let the world know the many dangers of the Skull Heart. She's clearly got a lot of personality, and that shines through in the gameplay footage and gif embedded above and below.

Her ultimate causes Sagan to gobble their rival whole before spitting them back out again. As always, the quality of the character's animations and fighting style is pretty top-notch. More info on Annie has been added to Skullgirls' forums. She's currently expected to arrive in the game's 4.4 update within the next couple of months.

I think it's fair to say that Skullgirls Mobile remains one of the premier fighting games on iOS and Android. If you're yet to give it a go, you'll find it up for download now from the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game. Those just starting out might find our little beginner's guide to be of some use.
