Following the release of Gwent's most recent expansion back at the end of June, the Witcher Card Game has now begun a second season of Journey. This was a feature that was previously available in the game and it will be sticking around for three months.

If you're unfamiliar, Journey is effectively the CD Projekt Red version of a Battle Pass, offering players an additional progression system. Players will net themselves rewards by levelling up from wins in Standard, Seasonal and Arena mode. There will be over 100 levels in this new Season of Journey with a plethora of rewards on offer. Among them will be unique ornaments and special points that can redeem items through Gwent's in-game reward book.

Throughout the three month tenure of Season 2 of Journey, players will also be able to complete a  new storyline. This will follow Ciri and new chapters will be released every week alongside a host of quests related to that week's story.

As you most likely assumed when I mentioned this is essentially a Gwent Battle Pass, there will be two different tiers to choose from, free and premium. The premium version of Journey will offer players additional rewards such as card kegs, titles, borders, animated cards and avatars. They'll also be given instant access to a customisable Ciri legendary skin.

If you do opt to go down the Premium Pass route, that'll cost you £7.99 or your local equivalent. Meanwhile, there's also a Premium Pass that will put on level 25 of the journey immediately alongside rewarding players with 20 ornaments. This will set you back £19.39

Gwent: The Witcher Card game is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
