Season 2 of the Go Battle League is nearing an end in Niantic's popular AR title. It introduced the Premier Cup format, which was apparently so well-received its set to return when Season 3 gets underway on Monday, July 27th at 1:00 pm PDT.

Once Season 3 commences, you will be able to grab your end-of-season rewards from the Battle screen. These aren't set to change too drastically in the new season either with the most notable change being that you'll get an Elite Fast TM instead of Elite Charged TM for reaching Rank 7.

Below is the planned schedule for Season 3 alongside a proposed start date for Season 4, though this is all subject to change. All leagues will start and finish at 1 pm PDT:

  • July 27th to August 10th – Great League
  • August 10th to August 24th – Ultra League and Premier Cup (2500 CP Limit)
  • August 24th to September 7th – Master League and Premier Cup (No Limit)
  • September 7th to September 14th – All Leagues and Premier Cup (No Limit)
  • September 14th – Season 4 commences.

As with Season 2, there will be no walking requirement to take part in the Go Battle League and the Friendship level requirement for battling remotely will remain at Good Friends. The Pikachu Libre items will continue to be the rank 7 rewards and the number of battles, wins and ratings for each rank will also remain unchanged.

While some aspects have stayed the same, you can expect a few changes in Season 4. For instance, there will be a special Flying Cup where only that type can be used. The Battle Until You Win feature has also been removed in Season 3 based on player feedback. For all the updates to the Go Battle League check out Niantic's recent blog post which also details changes to some attacks.

Pokemon Go is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
