Mass for the Dead is the latest anime gacha experience to hit mobile from Crunchyroll Games, and this one is based on the successful isekai series Overlord. The world of Overlord takes place within an MMO over 100 years in the future, where you can entirely experience another life, complete with every physical sensation replicated perfectly, but in a fantasy world.

Well, the mobile game isn't quite that, but it does a good of bringing you into the world of Overlord if you're a fan. If you're not, well, you might want to get into a different anime gacha game, honestly…

But if you've just downloaded the game and you want to know how to make some quick progress so you can show off to your weak friends, we've got the tips for you.

Follow the advice in this guide and you'll quickly clear through missions, achievements, challenges, and more so you can power up and progress as fast as possible.

1
Get your rewards, get your summons

The game has only recently launched, and as a result, you can benefit from a lot of early-adopter rewards for downloading the game as soon as you start reading this guide. Get to it!

You will be blessed with over 1000 shards for summoning, in addition to loads of gold and other items.

These will all benefit you massively in the game ahead, and those shards are enough for 20 summons, which you can do before you even fight a single mission. So go bolster your team, equip the rarest characters, and charge into battle.

2
Clearing through early missions

As in any mobile RPG, you'll have a variety of quests and missions to clear through early on. Of course you should ensure you play through all of the daily missions to get your daily bonus, and any weekly challenges you can.

But most important are the Rank missions, and you should be able to clear through the first load of Rank missions after clearing just a few story chapters and gathering up your rewards.

Make sure to follow each challenge and complete them. Once done, you will ascend to the next Rank, with more difficult challenges, which will take longer to overcome, especially the 5-day log-in challenge.

3
Saving up for more

Once you've cleared through your basic challenges and you're playing through the story, your next goal should simply be to summon more characters, and as many as possible.

You can do this by collecting the summon shards. These are available for clearing through story chapters, which is nice and easy, and also through other modes, such as the Advent Chapters.

In Advent Chapters you will unlock more story sections and dialogue scenes from raising bonds with characters, and yes, there are plenty of summon shards to easily earn here, quickly too, if you skip the dialogue.

4
Early VS late game

Now, when progressing through the early game, especially after your initial 20 summons and boosting the levels of your strongest characters, the game will be very easy.

You can leave almost all easy and normal rank battles on auto mode, have the fight play out itself, and move on.

But when you plateau, and find it more difficult to earn more powerful characters, items, and boosters, you will find things difficult. This is when you will want to take each fight slowly, and equip your team in a way that counteracts any enemy shenanigans. Good luck with that…
