Great Escapes is the latest game from Glitch Games, the folks who created the recently released Veritas. As the name implies, Great Escapes will see players trying to escape from a serious of rooms by solving a variety of puzzles. The game is available now for iOS and Android.

It was announced in a recent blog post on Glitch Games' website where it was revealed that Great Escapes has been in development on and off since 2016 but other ideas often took precedent. They'd initially worked on a Bunker-themed escape room but that eventually took on a life of its own and became the excellent All That Remains: Part 1.

But now it has arrived and promises to bring players quality over quantity on the puzzle front. Much like other games from the team, to help you keep track of all the different combinations and clues you'll have an in-game camera that you can use to snap pictures of them. Once you've taken a photo you can then pull it up anytime for reference.

The game is free-to-play and the monetisation is based on additional content. So you won't have to worry about purchasing additional hints or any of those other tricks you find in escape room-style games. Instead, Great Escapes will have the first pack unlocked for free with others available for additional IAPs if you want to tackle some more escape rooms.

There are currently three extra packs available but Glitch Games say they will add more over time. The next they plan to include will be the Glitch Classics pack which will add three rooms that are based on their previous games Forever Lost, A Short Tale and All That Remains.

Great Escapes is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
