Untold, a text-based RPG about a quest for vengeance, is available now for iOS and Android

Untold RPG first appeared on our radar back in December when the developer was on the lookout for people to take part in a beta test. Now, just a few months later the game is available for both iOS and Android.

If you're unfamiliar with Untold, it's a text-based RPG where your character awakens on a beach with no recollection of why you're there in the first place. The first other person you encounter has the same affliction and you both swear vengeance on those who are responsible.

Set in the world of Tem Khiris, you'll embark on an adventure fraught with danger where you'll need to make the right decisions to avoid the ever-looming possibility of death. The world is littered with warlords, druids and cults who are locked in an eternal struggle, so it's a pretty dangerous place to be.

Inspired by tabletop RPGs, Untold will also see you gather equipment to protect your character and enable them to fight back using a combat system that has been revised based on player feedback since the beta. The experience you gain from slaying enemies can also be used to increase their stats too.

Each playthrough promises to last around 8 hours so it'll hopefully be something you can really get lost in. Naturally, with a variety of decisions you can make throughout the adventure and different builds, there's some replay value in trying out other play styles and making alternative choices to see how the outcomes vary.

You can check out some of the gameplay in the trailer above, which will give you some idea on how Untold plays out. However, the game does effectively have a demo, being free-to-download with a single IAP that will unlock the full game if you enjoy it.

Untold RPG is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with a single in-app purchase for $4.99 that unlocks the full game.
