A tale of love in the city
A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986 is a neon-soaked visual novel with one of the most stylish trailers seen so far this year. It's set to launch for PC late next month, though a mobile port has reportedly been confirmed.
You basically go through the entirety of the protagonist Michelle's summer in Hong Kong as she enters into a whirlwind romance with Sam.
The game features visuals that match that of an anime from the 1980s or '90s, taking you back in time a bit. Even the music gives off a classic techno vibe that fits the game perfectly. We’re happy to announce A Summer’s End - Hong Kong 1986 Launch Trailer! pic.twitter.com/maWznk4Hed — ? The trailer gives us a brief glimpse of the game's sense of style and an intro to Michelle and Sam's first meeting. There also appears to be a man involved in the tale. Perhaps this is another love interest?
We may be looking at a potential love triangle story here, but that's purely speculation. If every piece of media feature a love triangle is to be believed, they have a tendency to end poorly for some, and sometimes all, of the participants. That said, there's nothing in the trailer that necessarily suggests that there will be the usual heated confrontations.
Keep in mind, though, that it's only a trailer. Plus, when there's love involved, there's passion, and when there's passion, there's drama. Only time will tell.
A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986 doesn't have a release date for iOS and Android yet, but it is scheduled to launch for Steam on April 23rd.
