A second chance to max out Mewtwo

Pokemon Masters sees the return of the Lurking Shadow Event alongside an Electric-Type Training Event today

Pokemon Masters received a whole host of new content last week with the addition of the Battle Villa and a plethora of other Story Events and new Sync Pairs. Today we see the return of the Lurking Shadow Legendary Event alongside a new type-specific Training Event.

Lurking Shadow originally ran last December, giving players an opportunity to get Giovanni & Mewtwo as a free Sync Pair. The catch was you had to do an awful lot of grinding to be able to make Mewtwo stronger because you weren't able to use regular training items. This led to a lot of folks ending the event without a fully kitted out Mewtwo.

Now it's returned until 16th March with various tweaks that should make the grind feel slightly less so. There are two types of Vouchers that are available in this event – Customer Voucher 1 and Custom Super Voucher 1 – which are used for increasing Mewtwo's Sync Move strength, Potential or to exchange for various training items, including 3-star level up manuals.

This time around the number of drops for both these voucher types have been increased. Additionally, a new singleplayer battle has been introduced so players can earn more Custom Voucher 1 than previously, taking some of the focus away from having to play co-op to earn them. However, the rewards for completing the co-op missions are tripled once per day, so they're worth doing.

Elsewhere there's currently an Electric-type Training Event which will offer a good opportunity to gain a lot of experience points for Pokemon of that typing. It will also offer vouchers that can be exchanged to increase the Sync Move strength of Hau & Raichu or for various training items.

This event will also run until 16th March. Both will also have their own set of missions to complete that will net players a mixture of Gems and training items. Specifically in the Electric-type Training Event's case, you'll also be able to grab yourself some co-op Sync Orbs. As always they're straightforward challenges that just involve grinding.

Pokemon Masters is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
