Epic Card Game, White Wizard Games' TCG, is now available in digital form for iOS and Android

Epic Card Game is a digital version of Epic, which is – you guessed it – a card game. It was originally created by Hall of Fame Magic: The Gathering players Rob Dougherty and Darwin Kastle. Now their game is available for both iOS and Android.

You might groan at the thought of another digital free-to-play card game but Epic Card Game could be worth a look if you're a fan of card games but get turned away by having to spend to keep up with the meta.

The reason being is that you'll get all of the cards available as soon as you start the game. The IAPs are reserved for extra deck slots, runs in the arena mode and cosmetic changes such as foil version of cards, avatars and different BattleBoards.

That leaves you to discover different synergies and playstyles without having to drop a load of money on opening packs. If you've never played the physical version of Epic Card Game there's a story campaign where you'll be able to learn how to play against AI too.

Once you've got to grips with it you can then take on other players from around the world in either draft or constructed modes. There are few other neat features linked to this too, such as being able to save opponents decks if you like the way it plays. Additionally, there are also real-time and asynchronous multiplayer options where players will have 48 hours to respond to a turn.

In the game itself, each player starts with 30 health and the winner will, naturally, be the first to reduce their opponents HP to zero. To play certain cards you will either need one 'gold' or you'll be able to play them for free with each player getting 'gold' at the start of each turn. This means you'll be able to play any card right from the start of the game.

Epic Card Game is available now for both the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
