Battlecraft is the latest battle-chess game, bringing quirky characters and simul-play to turn-based chess strategy

Battlecraft, the fast-paced chess style strategy game created by Sigil Entertainment is available now for Android and iOS.

The game's signature feature is that, although it's turn-based, you never have to wait for your turn to make your move. This is because the game has simultaneous play when online. Of course, simul-play has - of late - become a popular and recognizable aspect of online gaming.

Prediction is your ticket to victory express, as it's all about knowing what your opponent will do next. You'll be able to put together a squad with over 20 different heroes to give you an advantage.

You can earn some new abilities as well, and these can be unlocked in the single-player mode. Single-player also allows you to level up as well, which is a good way to prepare you for online play.

Battlecraft is unique in that it combines, speed, craftsmanship, and chess all in one package. The strategic approaches can vary per match.

“Battlecraft was born out of my love for chess. So with chess as a starting point, I came up with the idea of having actions play out simultaneously in turns," Nikola Todorovic, Founder of Sigil Entertainment said. "This way, you get this chaotic, exciting feeling while still having time to think about your choices."

Todorovic mentions how the game has a rock-paper-scissors feel in that you can think fast and guess the opponent's attacks, and then strike. You can also choose to play more defensively, dodging attacks before going in for your own. 

A leaderboard presence helps to keep you coming back for more. You can rise up the ranks in online play, and certainly, earning rewards and leveling up in single-player could help that greatly. 

Battlecraft is available now on Google Play, Steam, and the App Store. And it's out for the splendid price of free.
