Pokemon Masters' latest legendary event sees Rayquaza arrive on Pasio alongside free gems and an Alolan Sync Pair

Pokemon Masters has now been downloaded a colossal 20 million times, so to celebrate DeNA are giving every player 1500 gems. But that's not all the Pokemon Masters news we have today. There's also a new legendary event, Sync Pair and login rally, all of which will run until 14th February.

The legendary event was teased earlier this month with the reveal of its name – The Dragon That Rules the Sky. It turns out, that dragon is Rayquaza and players will be able to get the legendary Pokemon and its partner Zinnia – who originally appeared in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire – through this event.

Much like the Solgaleo event before it, players will first have to gather 100 vouchers to unlock the story mission that will allow you to add Zinnia & Rayquaza to your Sync Pair roster. Once you've unlocked the duo you can then grind for more of these vouchers to exchange them for items that will make Rayquaza more powerful. They can be earned in either event-specific co-op or singleplayer missions.

To coincide with this event there will also be a new login rally. Once again, this is mostly just a lot of free gems over the course of 14 days. It's 300 per day which adds up to a grand total of 4200 gems. Similarly, there will also be bingo missions for some extra rewards that can mostly be completed by upgrading Rayquaza and beating event missions a certain number of times.

Finally, a new Sync Pair has also been added to the game. This is Professor Kukui & Lycanroc, making them the second Sync Pair to have a Lycanroc, though the professor has the Midday version whilst Olivia's is the Midnight Form.

The pair will have their own Spotlight Scout that runs between now and 14th February where you'll have a slightly higher chance to get them. However, it's worth remembering that because Leaf currently has her own Spotlight Scout, you won't be able to obtain her using Kukui's.

Pokemon Masters is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
