Dungeon Faster, the popular deck-building roguelike, is now available for iOS

Dungeon Faster proved to be a popular game amongst our readers in 2019, earning itself a nomination for the Pocket Gamer People's Choice Award. At the time, it was an Android-only title but it's now available for iOS too.

Naturally then, it's been very well-received over on Google Play where it's been downloaded over 100,000 times. It's been fairly consistently updated since it's initial launch too with an endless mode, new bosses, cards and a hero being added in a recent update to the Android version.

If you're unfamiliar with Dungeon Faster, it's a roguelike card game with turn-based gameplay and dungeon crawling but simplified to make the whole process much quicker. The aim is always straightforward too, grab a key, kill the guard and leave through the door.

In each room, you'll tap on different areas of a grid to unveil either treasure, gear or an encounter against some foe. You'll use a deck of cards to enhance your chances of beating your foe through reducing their attack, increasing yours or through a variety of other means. These cards can be upgraded and any you improvements are permanent, so that card will remain more powerful on your next run.

There are several different characters to choose from as well, with each having their own playstyle and set of tactics to learn. For instance, there are bombs you can find in the dungeons that different characters will naturally have a higher chance of defusing, whilst others may have to accept it is going to do some damage to them.

It's certainly an impressive game from a one-man developer and it's no surprise that our readers nominated it for the People's Choice Award. It also impressed our own Dave Aubrey, who wrote about why he agreed that it was deserving of a place among other contenders such as Grindstone and Sky: Children of the Light.

Dungeon Faster is available over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
