Youth Control Games' promising rhythm action title, Mixmstr, sees you rising through the DJ ranks, starting out in small pubs before working your way up the ladder toward the world's most exclusive clubs.

Along the way, you'll save up to buy new music, mix records to draw the crowds to the dancefloor, and gradually refine your DJing skills. Gameplay is a mix of tricky rhythm action challenges and strategic music selection.

The team behind this one has a background in electronic music, so you can hopefully expect an authentic clubland experience. With tunes from real electronic artists and some of dance music's biggest labels soon set to be featured in the game's store, it certainly sounds like Mixmstr could be the premier DJ game on mobile.

In future, the team aims to continue building upon the core experience, introducing character customisation (including a female DJ avatar), fresh venues to play, and new challenges to take on.

Youth Control Games CEO, Timo Juuti says: "There are already too many virtual DJ apps on the market. Instead, we wanted to make a fun game about DJ culture and the clubbing scene we love. You don’t need to be a DJ to enjoy MIXMSTR but you can still get a taste of what it’s like to drop a big tune and fill the dancefloor!".

It's certainly stylish, and I like the low-poly look a fair bit. If you've ever fancied yourself as the next big name in electronic music, you may well enjoy the free-to-play MIXMSTR, now available on the App Store and Google Play.
