New playable faction added to Mordheim: Warband Skirmish

If you’re a tabletop gaming enthusiast, you’ll almost certainly be familiar with the Warhammer universe. Mordheim took Warhammer’s kingdom-wide warring down to the small, urban-scuffle scale - while Mordheim: Warband Skirmish took it from the table top to the handheld device. The game was released by Legendary Games in 2017 on Android and iOS, then ported to the Nintendo Switch in 2018. It faithfully captures the turn-based action and strategy that made the analogue version so popular.

In Mordheim: Warband Skirmish, you command a band of warriors in a quest for magic-imbued comet shards. Mordheim is a gloom-laden city full of unscupulous rivals seeking fortune and power, so your next brawl is always just around the corner. At the beginning of the game, you can choose from a range of mercenary factions including: Reikland, Middenheim, Marienburg, Skaven, Undead, Witch Hunters — and now the Sisters of Sigmar.

The Sisters of Sigmar (introduced as of today for the US version) are a brand new addition to the game, though the faction has its roots in Warhammer lore. Troublesome daughters of nobility would be sent away to the Order of Merciful Sisters of Sigmar to become nuns. After the magical comet came crashing down on the city, the Order dedicated themselves to seeking the shards. Unlike other factions, however, they were driven by a noble pursuit, to save mankind from causing its own self destruction.

If you choose to play as the Sisters of Sigmar, your warband will be helmed by a powerful Matriarch who has a helpful healing ability. She leads a group of novice sisters who begin the game as farily fragile warriors, but can quickly become skilled in combat. They are especially adept at taking on the non-human foes such as the Undead and Skaven. With a limited ability for ranged attack, the faction is best utilised up close where the sisters unique melee weaponry and moves are highly effective.

US players can now test the Sisters of Sigmar in combat for themselves whilst European players can look forward to trying out the new DLC from 30th Septermber. Begin your quest in Mordheim: Warband Skirmish on Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch.
