Fist of the North Star Legends Revive, the turn-based battler based on the manga, is available now

First of the North Star Legends Revive is has arrived. It marks the first time there's been an English-language version of a Fist of the North Star game on mobile. You can grab it on both iOS and Android though there currently appear to be a few server issues so it might be worth holding off for a while.

Legends Revive will be a turn-based battler where timing is a little more crucial than in most games of this ilk. Though you will select the attacks you want to do in a similar fashion to most turn-based titles you'll also have to tap at the right moments. Doing so will allow you to unleash power secret techniques.

The game's story will recreate the narrative found in the original manga starting from the very first chapter. This means old fans can have a nice jaunt down memory lane whilst new players won't feel too lost because they don't know every character's backstory.

Legends Revive will also feature the largest roster of any previous Fist of the North Star game. Fighters from both the Hokuto and Nanto schools are available alongside supporting characters such as Heart. So long-time fans should be able to build a team from all their favourites.

Now with a roster that size you've probably already guessed that this is a gacha game. That means you can expect the usual enhancements for characters you've already acquired and having to accumulate a certain amount of currency to try and get new ones.

I always worry about these types of games and how far they'll lean towards wanting players to pay real money. It can be disheartening, especially when the gameplay is great fun but you find your progress being hampered just to squeeze a few pounds from your pocket. Hopefully, that won't be the case here.

Fist of the North Star Legends Revive is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
