When you jump in to Capcom's new card battler Teppen, you'll have a bunch of characters to play, and a bunch of pre-built decks to carry you through those early online battles against opponents. And, honestly, they're pretty safe bets.
But once you start unlocking higher rank cards and begin devising your own strategies, those base decks just won't be enough for you, and it'll be time to build your own.
But how do you build a deck? What do you need to keep in mind? Are there specific rules for building decks? Well, that last one is a trick, because of course there are specific rules in place.
In this guide, we'll run you through what you need to know in order to build viable Teppen decks for PVP and more. Get stuck in, and then believe in your deck.
How to build a deck
So there are a few rules you need to know, and a few general tips that are important.
The first general tip is to stick to a single element, or card colour, and it should be the same colour as your hero. Ryu is Red, Mega Man X is Green, Morrigan is Purple, etc.
Having multiple elements in your deck can actually hamstring your strategies and give you less options in battle.
The next is that you need 30 cards for a complete deck, and in addition to that you can only have a maximum of 3 or any single card type.
You'll need both Action and Unit cards, and Units will be far more influential in battle. A good ratio is about 20 Unit cards to 10 Action cards, though these aren't solid rules, it depends on your strategy.
Remember, Units will actually be defending you in battle, and Action cards will be far more situational.
