Fortnite is the game that will never end. It will never stop being a thing, streamers will never stop screaming about it, and my nephew will never stop asking if he can play it on my Nintendo Switch, even though he should be playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

As proof that it will never end, there's yet another update which will bring brand new limited time modes to the island, in addition to weapon changes and more.

We've got a full list of the essential changes right here in this guide, so read through, then get ready to drop and shoot in Fortnite Battle Royale.

For the horde

Whenever an update hits Fortnite, the most exciting part is undoubtedly the brand new modes, and this update is no different, as fans can jump in and start playing one of two brand new limited time modes that are currently available.

The first is the big one, the return of the Horde Rush mode. The Fortnite Fiends are out there and raging around the island, and it's up to you to shoot down and protect yourself from the enemy horde.

You'll be running around the island, collecting score multipliers and opening special loot chests while shooting down monsters. You'll be doing all of that while juggling defending locations and even fighting against a final boss. A good mode to jump into with friends.

But that's not the only limited time mode available, as there's also One Shot Duos. In this game mode, every player only has 50 health. Yikes! Not only that, but snipers are the only weapons available. That's rough.

You can bandage yourself up, but it won't help with so many snipers around. But not only that, One Shot Duos also has low gravity, meaning you can leap from buildings and snipe people from miles around. Just be careful not to drift into their sights.

1
Proximity Grenade Launcher

This new weapon is incredibly exciting. The Proximity Grenade Launcher shoots out grenades - duh - but only detonates them when they get close to an enemy.

The grenades bounce off walls and fly around the area, and once they bounce near a foe, they'll pop and do big damage.

This weapon is incredibly effective, especially if enemies are hiding behind their fortifications, which this can just rip through.

2
Storm flip changes

The Storm Flip grenade has been a debated weapon, and Epic are making some changes to make things easier.

The grenade essentially causes the storm to appear anywhere, and while it previously scaled damage with the round, it now does flat damage, making it more viable in the early game.

They've also made it so you can more easily see where the storm ends, hopefully removing end-game confusion in the final circle.

3
Weapon loot changes

Loot rates for weapons has been changed across the board. Or, for a few weapons, at least.

Shield potions, Shotguns, and the Infantry Rifle will be more common in the world, especially Epic and Legendary variants.

Mounted Turrets and Heavy Assault Rifles, meanwhile, have become more uncommon, meaning you'll have to work harder to find these weapons.
