Every week here at Pocket Gamer we like to take some time to round up the 5 best new games for mobile. We do it on Thursday, because most new mobile games come out on Thursday. Right now, you're reading the start of the list, so if you're looking for an awesome new mobile game to play you're definitely in the right place. Gold star for you.

Bubbles the Cat
This one's a tough platformer where you're in control of the titular bubble-filled cat. Those bubbles are important as well, because they represent the number of jumps you can do while you're in midair. Use them all up before you've reached the safety of a platform and it's game over.
There are some other super smart ideas here, from a star system built around three different challenges, to special customisation options involving hats. And what's better than a cat in a hat? Bubbles the Cat offers up some slick mobile platforming that's as challenging as you want to make it.

Mystic Vale
Deck building games are becoming more and more common on the various mobile app stores, but this one plays things a bit different. You're not mashing up monsters and trying to get them to kill your foes, instead you're trying to restore the magical balance to once mystic places.
It's a smart move, and means you're going to be thinking differently here than you would in Hearthstone. Don't get us wrong, this is a pretty complex experience, and you're going to have to learn the rules if you want to get the most out of it - but if you're of that disposition, the time you put in is going to be well worth it.

Beep Boop Bots
Basically this is two sliding block puzzlers with one set of controls. Your screen is split in half, and there are robots at the top and the bottom. Swipe left, right, up, or down, and both of the droids will move in that direction - the twist is that they're in slightly different levels.
Finishing the challenges is pretty easy most of the time, but if you want to grab all the stars (which you will) you're going to be scratching your head a good deal. This is a well balanced puzzler that pretty much anyone can get some enjoyment out of.

SSC 2019
Anyone with a deep and abiding love for Sensible Soccer should really be picking this one up. It's a simple-to-play top-down football game that's actually got some depth to it thanks to a pretty massive manager mode. Oh, and the actual kicking the ball about is also an awful lot of fun.
It might not have the right licenses, but that's not the point. This is a slick and engaging sports game that works better on touchscreen than more complex experiences could ever hope to. Just try not to use the sliding tackles too much or you'll end up without any players on the field.

Apollo: A Dream Odyssey
Another puzzle game, but this one's as much an adventure as it is a problem-solver. You're running around a strange world, being told what to do by weird creatures in hoods. There are things to find, secrets to uncover, and an awful lot more going on than you might think at first look.
There's a gorgeous art-style here, and some intriguing use of the touchscreen. It's not the most polished game in the world, but there's a special something here that a lot of other games just can't provide. Pick it up, give it a go, we reckon that you're not going to be too disappointed.
