Slay the Spire Switch launch date slides into uncertainty
Mega Crit Games took to their Slay the Spire reddit, r/slaythespire, to detail their progress on console updates for the title. The PS4 version is heading along as planned and now has a May 21st release date, meanwhile the Nintendo Switch version has run into some complications. While there aren't details on the reasoning behind the delay, it does mean that they're unable to guarantee a release date which matches the PS4.
This issue could have been a simple, small thing which was clocked by Nintendo during final certification, or something picked up on during the final QA. Regardless, recertification can take an indefinite amount of time (normally weeks), which could definitely see its release pushed back into June if that's the reason.
Slay the Spire, for the unaware is one of the most successful card-game & roguelike fusions on the market. It's multi-award winning for a reason, it's writing and mechanics are fantastic, and we're really looking forward to adding it to our Switch libraries in the months to come.
New Nintendo Switch Labo VR, VR Plaza game released
A big thanks to user Polmo97 over on r/NintendoSwitch for this one. Nintendo have released a new minigame for the Labo VR via the Nintendo Switch news feed.
If you're like me and hardly use the news feed on the Switch then you'll almost certainly have (also) not subscribed to many of the product feeds. This, as it turns out, is a mistake, as Nintendo have made use of the feed to deliver new games and media to products. In the case of the Labo VR they've added a fun, little whack a mole game which you can save to the system after going through the VR Garage function.
To download it you'll need to go to your Switch news feed settings, turn them on (or access) the Labo VR stream. Once there you'll see an option to download the new game. Once you press this you'll need to boot up the Labo VR Garage (and have finished the tutorial), and it'll be available for you to see. As with any of the minigames you can tinker with it as you wish, but do remember to save it or it will lost and you'll have to go through the process again.
As many of you know I'm really waiting for the Labo VR library to kick off, this is a great little start. I'm always quite happy that they managed to do this with just the single JoyCon, as initially I was under the impression that a whack-a-mole game wouldn't be possible without the Elephant ToyCon (for depth).
Go on, give it a go. If you like it, or have made your own games and want to share them, then please let us know.
