Essentially this one is a prequel to Crypt of the Necrodancer, but it also features all of the original content from the mobile version of that game. That means that, to all intents and purposes, you're going to get two games for the price of one.

The game is all about making your way through a dungeon, using the rhythm of the soundtrack to smash up your foes. It's a wonderful idea, and somehow it manages to work even better in practice than it does in theory. Even if you've grown tired of subterranean adventures, there's a damn good chance you're still going to fall in love with everything that Necrodancer: Amplified has to offer.

Multiplayer games are really starting to get to grips with what it means to be on mobile, and Monsters With Attitude is a fine example of how to do things right. There are shades of both Clash and battle royale here, as well as a good chunk of .io fun. Stomp around, smash your foes, become the champion.

It might not be the sort of game that's going to stick around on your homescreen for years, and the shiny cartoon stylings are sweet but forgettable, but while you're playing you're going to be grinning from ear to ear, which is pretty damn good if you ask us.

Lucky Kat Studios has slowly but surely been building a reputation up as a purveyor of some of the finest action platformers that the mobile gaming space has to offer. If you don't believe us, get this one picked up and you might start to get a feel for what we mean. It's a fast-paced, slaughter-filled roguelike platformer with a lovely chunky art style and plenty of explosions.

The random levels mean you can never really let your guard down, and rather than trying to get from A to B, here you can't get out at B until you've killed every monster that's stalking the level. There's some decent progression too, with new characters and weapons to find and unlock as you play.

At first glance you might think this one is going to be another Pokemon rip off, but actually there's a lot more going on here than that. There's a big angsty JRPG here that also features monster catching, but it's more a case of building up your team than catching them all. There's a much deeper battle system than we usually see in Poke-clones as well.

There are a number of things to keep an eye on, including turn order and the power your team has, and that opens up some really interesting strategic options you're going to have to get to grips with. Plus, this is an absolutely enormous game, and it feels like there's always something new for you to sink your teeth into.

This one's a turn-based battler that sees you trying to bring down a corrupt government. You control a squad of fighters and robots, each of whom have their own set of skills to bring to the table. Oh, and you can get in big robots and use them to smash up members of the corrupt regime, which is pretty cool.

Interestingly for a free to play game there's almost zero hand-holding here. You need to figure out how to get the most out of your team on your own, and that's likely to appeal to more hardened strategy battle fans. There's definitely meat on this one's bones, and it poses the sort of challenge that some people are going to absolutely adore.
