Nintendo's Indie Direct earlier this year didn't get many people that excited - mostly because it was just an excuse to announce Wargroove and precious little else. But don't worry folks, salvation is around the corner - there's a new Nintendo Direct coming.

Today/tonight at 2pm PT, 5pm ET, and 10pm UK time, Nintendo will be doing a full-on Nintendo Direct live on YouTube. It'll last 35 minutes, and its main focus will be Fire Emblem: Three Houses which was announced last year. But expect other Switch titles to be talked about as well.

Me? Well, I'll be cursing everyone at Nintendo for making me work at 10pm, but what else is new. As for predictions, there'll probably be a release window for the Joker DLC in Smash Bros along with a tease of the next character, a look at Yoshi's Crafted World which isn't far off release, and a reiteration that Metroid Prime 4 has been massively delayed.

Aside from that, I really hope we'll get some more details on the upcoming Animal Crossing title, and maybe even a surprise announcement of Metroid Prime Trilogy. It is supposedly ready to go, after all. I'm also half-expecting there to be a re-release of Super Mario 3D World announced, since New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Edition has already been dealt with.

As for pipe dreams, I'm still clinging on for a Tokyo Mirage Sessions re-release, because that game is absolutely baller. Maybe some Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker DLC? Can you imagine how awesome that would be? And hey, maybe some news about Luigi's Mansion 3. Oh, and some third-party stuff probably.

Phew! That's a big ol' list right there - way more than will actually be announced, I'm sure. But one can dream. We won't know for sure what's coming out until, well, Nintendo says it is, but be sure to grab some popcorn and your favourite beverage ahead of this afternoon/evening and get ready for some hype, hype news.

And me, moaning endlessly about how I'd rather be in bed than up late working. Thanks, Nintendo.
