Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's next DLC characters may have already been uncovered

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate already has an absolutely stacked roster, so the prospect of throwing even more characters into the mix is frankly a little overwhelming. But Nintendo isn't stopping - and dataminers may have already uncovered the next set of characters.

Twitter user and dataminer "jam1garner" has shared a screenshot of some of Smash's data which seemingly points to three characters yet to be added to the game. These are "packun", "jack", and "brave", which isn't exactly much to work with, but we do have some clues.

Packun, for starters, seemingly refers to the Piranha Plant character which is set to land in February 2019. Piranha Plant won't even be a paid DLC - it's free to anyone who bought Smash Bros. Ultimate before 2018 ended and registered their game with Nintendo. Hooray!

Second up, Jack apparently refers to Joker, the Persona 5 character already confirmed to be coming to the game. Personally, I'm not sure I see the logic in that one, but then I'm not a dataminer and don't know what I'm talking about.

The most interesting one is "brave". The Internet is already ablaze with suggestions as to what this could be - I've seen a few theories dotted around that it could be a Dragon Quest hero as they have a class called "Brave", which makes a lot of sense.

Equally, it could be a reference to Bravely Default or Bravely Second, the 3DS RPG series from Square Enix that everyone loved, and we'll see one of the characters from there drop into the fray. It's honestly anyone's guess at this point.

My favourite theory so far is that Jack is a reference to Raiden from the Metal Gear Solid series. But given that Nintendo were already seemingly forced to change Snake slightly to appease Konami (his icon has changed from the Foxhound logo to just an exclamation point) I doubt the developers are going to be pushing their luck on that one.

Who do you reckon these names are pointing towards? Let us know in the comments with your wildest theories. My money's still on Travis Touchdown making an appearance.
