Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone is working on a new game set in the same universe, but the developer is putting that project on hold to continue creating new content for Stardew Valley, namely in the shape of a new complimentary content update.

Writing in a blog post, Barone shared that he always finds himself returning to Stardew Valley, even after moving on to the next game. Barone won’t be going it alone, however. Although Barone parted ways with publisher Chucklefish Games, he will be assembling a new team to help manage the workload. Barone is currently handling self-publishing duties for Stardew Valley on all platforms with the exception of Switch and mobile.

This team will be dedicated to working on new Stardew Valley content, giving Barone the breathing room to spend more time on his upcoming game. The team will be handling tasks like programming, repairing bugs, and business and administrative work, while Barone will take the lead on music and writing.
