Indie classic The Stanley Parable is finally coming to consoles

One of the more surprising announcements at last night's Game Awards was the news that 2013 smash-hit The Stanley Parable is headed to consoles for the first time ever, and will arrive bearing all-new content in 2019.

This updated version will be known as The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, though it remains unclear which consoles it'll be coming to. The tweet below from game creator Davey Wreden simply states that it's set for release on 'consoles and computers', so a Switch version isn't exactly guaranteed.

That said, it would make sense to bring it to Nintendo's console, given that it's where most indie games currently seem to thrive and make money.

The Stanley Parable was certainly an interesting time, one that ruminated on free will while having its tongue planted firmly in its cheek. The game was known for its dry sense of humour and witty narrator, as well as its many ridiculous endings, of which the Deluxe edition will be adding even more.

If none of that sounds particularly interesting to you, I'd still advice giving this new trailer a watch – it's funny in and of itself, and it might just win you over.
